Class Projects: Kindergarten Students learned about Piet Mondrian and primary colors for our last project. They also worked on their scissor and gluing skills to make these great artworks!
They have just begun working with Sculpey, a clay like material. We are learning about pinch pots, coils and coil pots, pancaking, texturing and rolling out our Sculpey to create our next piece. I can hardly wait to see what they make! 1st and 2nd Grade St. Joe's 1st and 2nd graders have just finished their Sonia Delaunay projects. They added circular recyclables to give their piece a low-relief effect. They did a great job making thier pieces a hit!
3rd and 4th Grades If you have always liked poetry, you'll love the haiku poems third and fourth graders wrote! Discovering how to use "old style" ink and pens was challenge at first, but take a look at some of these amazing artworks. The poems were written using the classic 5-7-5 formula for the three lines, but then student also needed to write about the Lenten season...Using Calligraphy Pens!!! As you can see, they did a great job!
With their haikus completed, we are just starting our weaving and sewing projects. We'll be using yarn, felt and needles (oh, my!). Coming Soon!
